As some people are already aware there are 31 new houses being built between lakepoint Park and the cinema. As part of Lakeploint Park with access through The Park.
From looking at the drawings it seems access to the new houses will be vehicular access through the Park as layed out from when lakepoint Park was built 20 years ago. Hoarding has been in place ever since until work commenced.
There seems to be pedestrian access through to the Close where there is hording in place also. This we would imagine would be similar to where there is pedestrian access through to Glen Petit.

No social housing was approved for the houses in the planning.
We have just had confirmation that Mulleadys builders are building these houses turnkey and they have already been sold to the council as a council estate. With road traffic through The Park.
Even though it’s a council estate the council will not take responsibility for any maintenance of greens etc.
We would advise any concerns be directed towards local Elected representatives as this seems to be set in stone at this stage.
You wouldn’t see a fully council estate on the Ardmore road, or Petitswood.

Thanks Ivan. I was lucky enough to be allocated one of these houses after losing my home in Dublin in the recession. I am living proof that anyone can fall on hard times since we were a two income household. I am very grateful for the chance to give my children a secure home again and I cant understand why people assume that council tenants are automatically scum. I hope my children don’t feel looked down upon growing up here, but it is a lovely estate and I’m hopeful for the future now.
