Hi, the Lakepoint Residents Association was contacted lately and asked for their support.
“ Im the chairperson of a group of parents attached to service users in the Mullingar Resource center which is situtated between your estate and Woodies, We are trying to get a safe crossing on the road and are hoping if we had your support and the support of St Lomans GAA we would have a stronger case to put to the council.“
This one is a bit of a no brainer really. With the amount of Childrem and people in general crossing the Delvin road for amenities on either side and with the speeding that is done on that road a safe road crossing is definitely warranted.
When you take into account that our children and children from all over town need to cross this busy road for access to St. Lomans GAA, Shamrocks GAA, the resource centre and the cinema not to mention just day to day needs to cross the road.
We ask everyone to contact any councillors you know and tell them you support the idea.
We as an association will be giving our full support to it.
We will also be asking again for the county council to remark the cycle lane from Lakepoint Park to St. Colman’s school.
