223,000 euro investment in Lakepoint

Stemming from a meeting with the Westmeath Co. Co. Months ago in relation to getting ramps and improved car safety the lakepoint residents association and some residents managed to secure a 223 thousand euro investment directly for lakepoint.
What will be happening is the footpath across the main green will be upgraded to be wider and to have public lighting added to it. This will add to much greater public safety in the darker months.
If that wasn’t good enough there will be a new 2 meter wide cycle/walkway with public lighting added to the green between the Park and the Green. That’s all it says in the council notes but I know what was applied for was also a cycle/pathway between the green and the close and the close and the Park. We are looking for clarification.
The council call it a permeability loop.

This work is on top of the ramps to be added to the main road thru the estate and table top ramps in the Park to help address the extra cars now with the new houses.
The ramps and road safety work are to be carried out in the third quarter of the year.

I don’t think lakepoint has ever seen such an investment in it.
